The sacred city of Kandy which was known as Senkadagala in the past is a major tourist destination that’s nestled away in the central hills of Sri Lankan. Above all things this city is renowned among tourists for the sacred temple of the tooth relic. The Kandy city goes down in the history books as the last Sinhalese kingdom ruled by the Sri Lankan kings which was captured by the British in the year 1815.

This excursion can be started off from Colombo (7 am) or the South Coast (6 am).

Kandy Temple
The Temple of the tooth relic also known as the Daladamaligawa is a must visit site in Kandy during your stay here in Sri Lankan. Witness the beautiful architecture, ancient rituals and culture unique to this holy place. Adjoined to the temple is a museum with ancient artifacts where you can acquire some knowledge on how this beautiful city must have been in its glorious days.

Royal Botanical Gardens
Royal Botanical Gardens is situated approximately 5 km away from Kandy in the city of Peradeniya. It is one of the tranquil places in the area and this garden draws in 2 million visitors every year. With over 4000 species of flora and fauna this beautiful garden is sure to take your breath away.

Kandy View Point
Kandy view point which is also known as Arthur’s Seat is a viewpoint that’s situated not far from the Kandy city. The spot is full of street vendors trying to make some money by selling wooden masks, buddha statues and small souvenirs including post cards. Grab your camera and come when you visit this place to capture the beautiful panoramic views.

Spice Gardens
