This excursion can be either started off from Colombo (8 am) or the South Coast (9 am).

Galle Fort
Undoubtedly Galle Fort is the centerpiece of this cultural city. This rock fortress was initially built by the Portuguese and then by the Dutch. Inside you can find an entire small city with churches, banks, museums, boutique shops and restaurants scattered among the colonial houses. UNESCO has named Galle Fort as a World Heritage site and it is a must visit location in your Sri Lankan journey.

Madhu River
Witness the bio diversity unique to the area from a different angle while enjoying a nice a boat ride. This mangrove forest which plays a vital role in the eco system is a haven for the animal species and flora and fauna found here.

Turtle Hatcheries
Sri Lankan shores are a favorite breeding spot for sea turtles and you can find several turtle hatcheries around the coast. Witness, support and admire the hard work of the people who are trying their best to conserve these beautiful creatures who are categorized as endangered species.

Unawatuna Beach
Bask in the sun right next to the Indian ocean with the sea breeze whispering into your ear in Unawatuna beach. This beach resort is popular both among foreigners and locals for its azure waters, the coral reef and as a hotspot for spotting whale sharks in Sri Lanka. Discovery channel once named Unawatuna beach as the best beach in the world.

Weligama Stilt Fisherman
Witness the unique fishing method of Stilt fishing in Weligama. This site is unique and is iconic to Sri Lanka as well. Fishermen sit on a cross bar that is attached to a pole imbedded into the seabed a few meters away from the shore.
